Whitley Bay Panto: Snow White, 4 Dec to 3 Jan

This year’s pantomime at the Playhouse Whitley Bay is Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs, running from Friday 4 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. The venue’s own event page has the run confirmed and booking open.

The cast the Playhouse has announced:

• Michelle Heaton, of Liberty X, as Snow White
• Theo Mayne, from the BBC series The Traitors, as Prince Theodore
• Andrew Fleming, the Britain’s Got Talent comedian, as Muddles

What the Playhouse has not published

Performance times and ticket prices. The event page lists the run as “Various Times” and shows no prices at all. There is no date picker on it either, which the Playhouse does put on its other shows. Booking runs through AXS, the venue’s ticketing partner, and a booking fee applies. Until the Playhouse puts the schedule on its own site, the AXS listing is the only place the individual dates and times exist.

That matters if you are buying for a specific day. A panto with a month-long run usually has matinees, evening shows and doubled-up days over the school holidays, and none of that is on the venue’s page yet. Expect it to appear as December gets closer. This page will be updated when it does.

The Panto Suite Experience

The Playhouse sells a suite package alongside standard seats. It includes one ice cream, one soft drink and a sweet or savoury snack of your choice per person. Two conditions are worth reading before you book it:

• All 10 seats must be bought for exclusive use of the suite
• Access is up a small flight of stairs, so it is not step-free

Dietary requirements have to be arranged with the venue in advance.

The other Christmas show at the Playhouse

If the panto run does not suit, the Playhouse also has A Christmas Carol on Monday 16 November 2026 at 7.30pm, staged by Operation Moonlight. Its event page is a fuller listing than the panto’s: it has a date picker, a booking link and a detailed suite package with a pre-show drink and a cheese and meat selection in Sea View Corner. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult for that one too.

The second panto, in January

The town gets two. Whitley Bay Pantomime Society presents Aladdin at the same theatre from Wednesday 13 to Sunday 17 January 2027, and unlike the main show the Playhouse lists every performance in its booking selector:

• Wednesday 13 January, 7pm
• Thursday 14 January, 7pm
• Friday 15 January, 7pm
• Saturday 16 January, 2pm and 7pm
• Sunday 17 January, 2pm

Take those from the selector rather than the paragraph printed underneath it, which lists a “Saturday 17th” that does not exist. Under-14s must be accompanied and a booking fee applies. The society’s previous show, Robin Hood, ran in January 2026 and has finished.

Booking, and the thing that catches people out

There is no general sales telephone line. The Playhouse says so on its how to buy tickets page: book online through AXS or in person at the box office, and the only number that takes bookings is the accessible booking line, 0191 251 5484.

Box office hours are stated twice on the venue’s own site and the two do not agree. The how-to-buy page gives Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10.30am to 2.30pm. The accessibility page gives Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm. Both agree it also opens an hour before every performance, which during the panto run is the safest time to turn up. Ring first if you are making a special trip.

Groups of 10 or more can email the venue about a discount on selected shows, and tickets bought through the venue’s previous ticketing partner are still valid.

Access

The venue publishes a fuller access list than most, on its accessibility page:

• Four designated wheelchair bays. The auditorium is reached by a ramp, and there is a lift to the first floor.
• Two accessible toilets in the ground-floor foyer.
• The free car park beside the Playhouse has five Blue Badge spaces.
• Personal assistants. Where a patron needs one, the combined cost for both people is the price of a single full-price ticket.
• Hearing loop covering rows D to M. Say so when booking.
• Assistance dogs are welcome, though the venue warns that some performances have loud bangs, which is worth weighing for a pantomime.

Accessible seating can be booked online: choose the show, then “all ticket types” to pick ambulant or wheelchair seating and add a companion ticket.

Parking for the Playhouse

The Playhouse is on Marine Avenue, a short walk from the town centre and the seafront. Two things help with an evening show:

• The council’s charged car parks stop charging at 6pm, so a 7pm or 7.30pm performance falls in the free window
• On-street pay and display bays run Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm only, so they are free for an evening show and free all day on a Sunday

The council’s live records still show the Playhouse car park as free, though a January 2026 consultation proposed charging there. Full detail, including the free council car parks and the Spanish City trap, is on our Whitley Bay parking page.

Is it on this year

Yes. The run is confirmed and on sale. The gap is in the detail: no times, no prices, no access performances on the venue’s own site yet. Check back through October and November, or go straight to the AXS listing if you need a specific date now.
