We checked 14 Whitley Bay and Tynemouth shops and markets, from Bellwoods to Razzberry Bazaar, for opening hours and addresses. Updated November 2026.
Whitley Bay and the coast around it have 14 independent shops and markets for Christmas shopping in 2026, and this guide puts them in one place with opening hours, addresses and what each one sells. Bellwoods, Just Canny, Razzberry Bazaar and Tynemouth Market are the names most people land on. We checked each entry on 5 November 2026 against its own site, and say where we could not.
We have not shopped at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Shops often change their hours close to Christmas, so check before a special trip.
Park View, Whitley Bay
Visit North Tyneside describes Park View as home to many smaller independent traders selling local produce, gifts, furniture and fashion.
1. Bellwoods Lifestyle Store
Bellwoods describes its range as “planet friendly, design-led and cool things for you, your home and your life”. Its website has a Christmas shop this year, with cards and wrap, felted tree decorations, stocking fillers under £15 and Secret Santa gifts under £20.
It also sorts presents by who they are for, from teachers to grandparents. Online orders can be collected free from the shop.
It asks customers to check its social media pages for any unforeseen closures.

The Bound is the Whitley Bay sister shop of Forum Books in Corbridge. Forum Books places it on Park View, with a bespoke event space upstairs. Living North told readers in July that bookworms should not miss it.
The shop has no separate website that we could find, so the address and hours below come from an online directory, last updated in April, and not from the shop itself. Check them with the shop before a special trip.

4. Keel Row Books
Keel Row moved to Park View from North Shields, and High Life North reported in 2024 that it had taken over the old Boots store. That article calls it the region’s longest-standing antique and second-hand bookshop, specialising in first editions, signed and rare books, and North East history.
The main ground-floor room is reached from the street, but some books are upstairs, and the shop asks anyone who needs help reaching them to call ahead. It says there is free one-hour parking right outside.

The shop says hours may vary and to check its social media first.

What we left out, and what is still to come
Living North’s July guide also names Meander Gifts in Whitley Bay, and Wild at Heart and Bird & Fox in Tynemouth, while a Tyne Tunnels gift list from last December names To the Moon & Back on Front Street. We could not find a working site of their own to check against on 5 November, so they are left out for now. That does not mean they have closed.
Two names on older lists have changed. Fine & Sandy’s website now carries the notice “Online and Tynemouth store closed”, and The Leather Mob now lists its boutiques as Windermere, Alnwick and Beverley, not Tynemouth.
Common Ground, a new indoor market in the former Wilko at the Beacon Centre in North Shields, says more than 30 businesses are involved. We could not find an opening date, and will add it when there is one.
We found no 2026 dates for late-night shopping. North Tyneside’s 2024 programme listed evenings in Tynemouth and Whitley Bay in late November, but that does not mean they will repeat on the same dates.
Getting there
Our parking page has the car parks and charges. Free December parking has not been announced for 2026, though last year’s scheme came out on 1 December: see our Christmas travel page, which will also carry the Metro’s Christmas timetable once Nexus publishes it.
How we chose
We started from Visit North Tyneside, Living North’s July guide to this stretch of coast and the Tyne Tunnels’ Christmas gift list, then kept the places that sell things people buy as presents and whose details we could check, on their own sites wherever possible. Selection is by what is there and what can be checked, not by our taste, and nobody paid to be listed.
